Multi-Sensory Reading Instruction
Multi-Sensory Reading Instruction focuses on the five essential components of reading based on the Orton Gillingham Method and MARS strategies from the Springer School in Cincinnati. This training also incorporates developing receptive and expressive language and building memory through multisensory teaching techniques and intervening with readers that continue to struggle. Participants will learn how to administer assessments, identify student weaknesses in reading and develop lessons that meet a variety of student needs in reading and writing. Participants are trained in progress monitoring tools and the use of the blending board and language toolkit and are given a lesson plan for multisensory instruction, a strategies binder, language toolkit, Recipe for Reading Book and prop pack.
