Beginning Teacher Institute (BTi)

The first year of a teacher’s career can be the most challenging, and SESC wants to help. The SESC Beginning Teacher Institute (BTi) offers a variety of in-time trainings for teachers new to the field, along with the opportunity to network with other new teachers from across the region. BTi participants will hear from several former Kentucky Teachers-of-the-Year, and participate in training on topics such as:

  • Classroom management
  • The Danielson Framework
  • Student Engagement
  • Dealing with angry parents
  • Time management for the new teacher
  • Professional ethics
  • Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
  • Teacher Professional Growth and Effectiveness System
