Instructional Scaffolding: A Compass in Any Diverse Classroom

Are you among the many educators that are continually looking for effective ways to meet the diverse learning needs of your classroom? Do you struggle to provide access to a rich curriculum aligned to the newly revised standards while ensuring equity to all students? If so, join us in this six-hour foundational training where we will clarify the meaning of instructional scaffolding, model instructional scaffolding in context, engage in scaffolding activities and plan for implementation of scaffolding in our classrooms. LEARNING INTENTIONS- I will deepen my understanding of instructional scaffolding and the impact on diverse learners through -Clarifying and adding to my knowledge of instructional scaffolding -Modeling instructional scaffolding in context -Exploring instructional scaffolding instruction through activities -Planning for instructional scaffolding focused on KY Academic Standards -Reflecting on my practice to create a plan for next steps and additional support needed

Audience: General Education Teachers, Special Education Teachers, Principals, DoSEs, Instructional Supervisors

SESC Event Cancellation Policy – In the event of inclement weather, SESC will cancel events based upon the cancellation of school by the county school district in which the event is to be held. For example, an event scheduled in Pineville Independent School District would be cancelled if school in Bell County School District was cancelled for the day. Please check media announcements for cancellation of school for inclement weather.
