The 2020 calendar year has been unlike any other in recent school history. Although educators have faced many trials and obstacles, we have also learned many lessons that, when shared, can benefit one another. With that in mind, SESC will host its first SESC Teaching and Learning Virtual Summit, titled “Elevate 2021”, via Zoom on January 22 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The summit will allow educators to share promising practices for teaching in distance learning while also recognizing many of the teachers and administrators who have worked tirelessly to provide a positive learning experience for students during the pandemic. The event will include a keynote presentation by Kentucky’s 2021 Teacher of the Year Donnie Piercey as well as many 15-30 minute presentations scheduled throughout the day. Participants will be able to select from presentations given by teachers and administrators from across the SESC region as well as representatives from the Kentucky Department of Education. This event is appropriate for all educators. Register now and the Zoom link to “Elevate 2021” will be forwarded to you immediately prior to the event. A schedule of presentations will also be shared with registrants in advance. Contact Dr. David Johnson at [email protected] with any questions regarding the summit.
Fee: $25 for Member Districts, $40 non-members. PO’s need to be sent to [email protected] or faxed to 859-575-1618.
